The Hon’ble Guardian Minister of Jorhat District, Smt. Ajanta Neog today at 12:00 noon inaugurated the newly installed web-based Hospital ManagementInformation System (HMIS) at Jorhat Medical College & Hospital, Jorhat by lighting the lamp and unveiling the curtain of the inaugural plaque of the HMISin presence of the Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Sjt. Kamakhya Prasad Tasa; Hon’ble MLA, Jorhat and Chairman of the Society for Medical Education, Jorhat,Sjt. Hitendranath Goswami; Hon’ble MLA, Dergaon, Sjt. Bhabendranath Bharali; Deputy Commissioner, Jorhat, Sjt. Ashok Kr. Barman; the District BJPPresident, Sjt. Hemanta Kalita; the Principal cum Chief Superintendent, JMCH, Jorhat, Prof. (Dr.) Ratna Kanta Talukdar and Superintendent, Prof. (Dr.) PurnimaBarua, JMCH, Jorhat, along with other faculties and distinguished guest.
Later, in a brief meeting held in the College Council Hall of AdministrativeLater, in a brief meeting held in the College Council Hall of AdministrativeBuilding, Prof. (Dr.) Ratna Kanta Talukdar welcomed the Hon’ble Minister and the distinguished guests and briefed the meeting that how HMIS would help inregistering complete patient information that will capture and store the medical history, treatment required, details of the patient’s previous visits, upcomingappointments, reports and more. He further informed that the system is the first in any govt. medical set-up in Assam. The project cost of the system stood atRs.64.00 Lakhs out of which the NRL, Golaghat had promised to contribute Rs.30.00 Lakhs from its CSR activity. The rest amount will be borne from JMCHown fund. The Principal cum Chief Superintendent, JMCH, Jorhat also informed that as part of guidelines of the NMC, New Delhi, Jorhat Medical College had alreadyinstalled and activated 25 cameras in the classrooms, laboratories, OTs and OPD etc. and integrated the same along with the HMIS with the National Medical Commission. Hon’ble MLA, Jorhat and Chairman of the Society for Medical Education, Jorhat, Sjt. Hitendranath Goswami expressed his pleasure that JMCH, Jorhat has done agood work in regard to patient care. The Hon’ble Guardian Minister, Smt. Ajanta Neog hailed the initiative carried out by JMCH, Jorhat by its own and congratulated the authorities of JMCH for implementing the system first in the state. She was glad to know that the system would benefit the patients coming from far and near the district. She assured that she would apprise this good news to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and request considering funds for JMCH, Jorhat for its upliftment. During the tea-time, an online live presentation of the HMIS was presented in the meeting.
