Health camp under Family Adoption Programme

A health cum awareness camp was organised by the Department of Community Medicine, Jorhat Medical College and Hospital under the Family Adoption Programme at No. 3 Sensowa Gaon LP School on 05/07/2024 for the families adopted by the students of Phase II MBBS of JMCH (2022-23 batch).

The camp offered comprehensive services including clinical, diagnostic laboratory, preventive and health awareness services. The Departments of General Medicine, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Biochemistry and Dermatology also offered services in the camp. Health talk and street play on Vector Borne diseases and health and hygiene were also carried out. Cleanliness and plantation drive was also carried out during the camp with the involvement of the local community.

Awareness Program for 10th International Day of Yoga

9th June 2024

No one in this world can take better care of your health than yourself. Yoga not only changes the life you lead, but it also changes the perspective of others who see you.. so by understanding the benefits of Yoga or meditation on our health we, the members of Jorhat medical College practised some of the very best asanas of Yoga under the able supervision of experienced Yoga instructors..Under the able supervision of Dr Geeta Baruah, Head of the Department of Physiology, a Yoga session was organised in the Department of Physiology on 9th June 2024. It was a part of awareness program to mark the 10th International day of Yoga, jointly organised by Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences and Indian Yoga culture and Yoga therapy centre, Guwahati.

 


World Environment Day 2024 celebration

5th June 2024

A series of events were organised by the JMCSA on the occasion of World Environment Day 2024 which included "Poster making competition" on 4th June and "a Plantation drive" on 5th of June. The poster making competition began with great participation by the students and was judged by Dr Mousumi Saikia, Assistant Prof Dept. of Anatomy and Dr Deepjyoti Deka, Assistant Prof Dept. of Pharmacology. The theme was on "Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience" the posters reflected the innovation and ideas for the environment.

On 5th June the students gathered infront of the admin building for "Plantation drive" to show their contribution towards a greener environment and a better future. The event took place in the presence of our honourable Principal Prof Dr Ratna Kanta Talukdar, Prof Dr Rubi Saikia, Prof Dr Rituparna Phukan Ray, Prof Dr Krishna Talukdar and many other dignitaries. The 100 tree saplings were donated by the Forest Department of Assam Jorhat alongside the Axis bank Jorhat also donated 50 tree sagplings for a step towards a greener future. The students planted many tree saplings around the campus and showed great enthusiasm.
