Academic activities 2

·         Academic services: The Faculty of the Department of Pharmacology is significantly contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research, D. Pharm/B. Pharm/M.Pharm hospital training activities and conducting CMEs on a regular basis.

·         Post Graduate Course: The department is presently imparting training to the Post Graduate students in pharmacology with an annual intake of 3 candidates. The Post Graduate course was started in the year 2014 with three seats.

·         Clinical Pharmacology Department: An average of 30-40 prescriptions generated in various clinical OPD and IPD departments are regularly critically evaluated as prescription audit exercise under clinical pharmacology department and communicate the same with medical superintendent for policy making.

·         The ADR monitoring centre (AMC) under Pharmacovigilance Programme of India(PvPI) was established in the year Jan, 2014. ADRs are collected from various departments of JMCH and reported to National Coordination Centre (NCC) by trained pharmacovigilance associate appointed by PvPI, IPC, Government of India, via net based software Vigiflow.

·  Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacology Lab: For pharmacy and clinical pharmacology           research and practical for UG students.

·    Experimental Lab: For Animal experiment and research by UG and PG scholars.

·    PG research Lab: Exclusively for PG scholars and other departmental researches. 

·    Museum: Various models and charts related to history of medicine, history of pharmacology, drug mechanism of actions and drug formulations are being preserved and displayed for study purposes.

·   Central Animal House: Small experimental animals are  housed in humane conditions as proposed by CCSEA, GOI, for academic activities and research.
